Our Story

Our journey began in the summer of 2019, on Tinder of all places. We were both a little unsure about online dating, but our first conversation just clicked. As for our first date? It definitely had its bumps.

It all started with a mix-up on directions. He accidentally typed in his best friend's address, which led us to the middle of nowhere. By the time we made it to the restaurant, I wasn’t a huge fan of the food (awkward), and then we ended up at his parents' house where I got to meet his mom. She was amazing, but I’ll admit—meeting the family on the first date was a little unexpected! To top it off, we watched a scary movie, and anyone who knows me knows I’m not a fan of scary movies. Somehow, though, we powered through.

What really stood out to me, though, was how easy it was to talk to him. I remember staying up late before my scheduled 6 a.m. shifts at Harris Teeter, just talking to him in my car. I’d drop him off, but we’d end up chatting for hours until it was 2 a.m.—and I’d still have to get up early the next day! But honestly, I wouldn’t have traded those moments for anything.

As the years passed, we shared so many laughs, some tears, and countless memories. Each one has made our relationship stronger.

In June of 2021, he took me to Puerto Rico and proposed in the most magical setting—a gazebo on the beach at sunset. It felt like a dream, but it was real. And it’s moments like that that remind me why I love him. He has a way of making life feel special, like seeing the world in color for the first time.

He’s taught me what love really is, and I can’t wait to marry my best friend.
